Defense Attorney, Micheal Deturdo

and the "sweetheart deal" of the century.

 

When I first met Hailey, she recounted how the last statement the Defense Attorney, Micheal Deturdo, made before leaving the room was “I don’t believe you”.

The day of the plea, the 7 additional victims that were interviewed by the police came prepared with their victim impact statements and they were silenced by Micheal Deturdo and told they could not participate forcing one victim to go to the media:

When the Judge denied Ren request for first offender status, he verbally admonished Deturdo for claiming that Hailey was an unreliable witness then stated "of all the cases he seen this one should have gone to trial.”

Ren was sentenced to 8-months time-served and released that day. Federal charges were never pursued although Ren transported Hailey across state lines.

"Lucky" for Ren, waiting the extra two weeks after Hailey's 16th birthday saved him "facing" 30 years as a child sex offender. Instead he was charged with aggravated assault ("any term of years") because Hailey was over the age of consent...

(It is almost like the criminals exploit the age of consent and wait until the victim reaches of age to make sexual advances to avoid criminality!!)

Below is the "best case scenario" for charges in the USA.
